An acrylic painted piano commissioned by Sing For Hope in partnership with One Mind, and sponsored by the Columbia WHO Center for Global Mental Health Advisory Board in 2025.
This piano is inspired by quilting, and how people from all ages and backgrounds can come together and build something cozy and comforting. I hope that people who play this piano will realize that a bad day isn’t a bad life, and the good days can outnumber the bad ones, piece by piece, just like a quilt.
As part of @freedomhousenj, The Jack and Ruth DeLaney House will provide transitional support and housing for women facing mental health and addiction challenges, allowing them to remain with their children as they embark on their recovery journey.
